It’s strange leaving sunny July in New Haven, to a drab, cold and drizzly Lima. But that is how it is; Summer is Winter here. During this season, there’s a persistent layer of gray skies, like a permanent lid on your mood. Though the natives seem to take it in stride, I wonder how well I would cope after 2-3 months of this.
Lima is, like many other developing cities, sectioned off into horrendous areas and places that seem to thumb their noses at the rest of its inhabitants suffering. I spent two days in the city and while I enjoyed every moment, that was more than enough. The best way to navigate the sprawling city is by bicycle; you can easily get just about anywhere.
Don’t worry, the dog is just sleeping…
