At my age, most people dislike amusement parks. And I think I feel that way too. But there’s one exception; Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. Perhaps it’s nostalgia for the frequent visits during my own childhood, or maybe it’s just a special place. Or both.
What is different about Tivoli is a lingering funkiness. While adrenaline-rush rides of modern times have long since made their way into the park, there’s still remnants of old-timey entertainment. The park opened in 1843 and you can still amuse yourself in a house with distortion-mirrors, moving floors and climbing ropes.
